A Must Read: Special Advice For Single Ladies

1. Guys love to marry an Independent and Matured lady… So instead of sitting there and waiting to be bluffed by a guy, focus on getting a career that would take you out of the house wife category…
2. Never let the sweet talks of MOST guys deceive you, sometimes all they just want is to have easy access between your legs and run off thereafter.
3. Remove the mentality from your mind that guys will keep springing up to approach you. The older you get by the day, the less toasters you will have.
4. Playing ‘too’ hard to get is the worst thing you should ever start, remember, Nothing lasts forever. If you still doubt, check out the number of matured single ladies looking up to GOD FOR A MIRACLE (Husband).
5. Never extort things from a guy you don’t love, guys always have ways of paying a girl back, either through their FRIENDS or total ‘PAID’ STRANGERS….BE CAREFUL.
6. Never be deceived you can trap a guy through s^x. A man will also return to his wife who s^x starves him for years once he loves and trust her. You can never win a man over with your body.
7. If all you take to the relationship is the mind set to EXTRACT MONEY from him, don’t complain if all he ask from you is your body. He has seen you have nothing else to offer…
8. Don’t be fooled when Guys tell you they have never met a prettier girl, they will say that same thing to an 80year old woman they want to get intimate with.
9. A guy always taking you to the SILVER-BIRD, FAST FOOD (pizza in or galitos), MALL AND EVENTS AT CONFERENCE CENTER/NATIONAL THEATRE is no sign that he loves you, if he doesn’t care to ask and PLAN YOUR FUTURE TOGETHER then you are just his ‘SOCIAL MATE’ and nothing else….
10. If the only time he invites you over is when he needs to cook, clean the house and do his laundry, then just know you are his “executive house help”.
11. If he avoids meeting your family and close friends then it is an obvious sign he is just playing games with you.
12. Don’t always change the tv station from NTV to CHANNEL O, MTV and Fashion TV. Take time to find out what is bothering him and how you can help out.
13. If the only places he doesn’t frown when you enter are his bedroom and kitchen then know you aren’t welcome (only being used).
Have you noticed that most of the ladies that end up being emotionally abused are the ones at the receiving end… Always with open arms, requesting for something and ready to receive… The more you widen your arms, the more he widens your legs.
A grown up guy who gives the excuse about his parents being wild when he brings female visitors to the house is a sign that HE HAS A SERIOUS GIRL AND HAS INTRODUCED HER TO HIS PARENTS ALREADY… ADVISE YOURSELF…
FINALLY, I ALWAYS SAY THIS AND WILL REPEAT IT AGAIN… It’s better to be sitting in a taxi smiling happily than to be in your husband’s fresh air conditioned BMW x6 with bruised eyes wearing a fresh Gucci shades alongside a Burberry scarf….
JUST REMEMBER, THAT DATING A RICH MAN DOESN’T GUARANTEE HAPPINESS IN MARRIAGE… MONEY IS
NOT EVERYTHING….. MAKING RIGHT CHOICES IN LIFE IS WHAT MATTERS MOST!

True Confession: I did an abortion for the man my sister wants to marry, should I tell her?

My name is Ada (not real name), a 30-year old single lady working in a bank in one of Nigeria’s famous cities. About three years ago, I had a brief affair with a good-looking man. He is two years older and works in an oil company. We actually met while I was in the marketing department of my organization.
Before long, we started seeing each other and even spent nights at each other’s place. I had great affection for him; he was a real gentleman with nice qualities. However, the relationship lasted only five months. It ended after I carried out abortion because according to him, he had no plans to settle down at that point. I felt used, dumped and couldn’t bear the pain any longer so I broke up.
After completion of her National Youth Service last year, my younger sister travelled out for a Master’s programme in the United Kingdom, same country my ex was transferred to from Lagos in 2011. He had informed me about the promotion and I wished him well. We keep in touch once in a while, although no feelings attached.

The shocker: My sister has always been telling me so many sweet things about her boyfriend and that she can’t wait for me to meet him. She obviously was in love…I was very happy for her because just like me, she had gone through so many heartbreaks.

In December, she sent pictures of her and a guy together at a friend’s birthday party. At first, I thought my eyes were deceiving me; it was my ex! I recognized him the second I saw his face. As if not enough, I got yet another shocker in the third week of January. She said my ex has proposed and that they are planning to get married later this year. Honestly, since hearing this news , I have been very uncomfortable.
Few days ago, I told my ex we needed to talk so he called. I expressed my fear and reservation of him courting my sibling considering our past. He said he already knows that I and his new love are related. That he found out after several conversations with my sister and also several pictures of us. He said he hasn’t said anything yet and that we should keep sealed lips, since we dated before they met in the UK. Initially I accepted his view but lately I have been miserable. I really wish to get this off my chest but at the same time I don’t want to hurt my kid sis.

I am mad at myself, I am mad at life. What do I do please?

FRSC Bans Drivers Aged Under 25 from Driving Taxis, Trucks & Obtaining Commercial Drivers’ Licence

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC has announced an approved minimum age of 25 years for obtaining a commercial driver’s licence. This may have stirred a human rights controversy as in Nigeria, a person is deemed to be an adult from the age of 18.

The Lagos State Sector Commander, FRSC, Nseobong Akpabio told the News Agency of Nigeria that the step was intended to get rid of underage drivers and sanitise the profession.
“An underage commercial driver has no commitment and may see driving as one of those jobs that could be toyed with. Many road crashes, especially with articulated vehicles, were usually traced to motor-boy drivers, who were without experience."
“Road crash involving a commercial bus may jeopardise the existence or progress of 10 families and if it involved freight vehicle, it will affect the progress of the company. "

“Drivers are very important as they can either mar or make a person, because if there is safe arrival, goals and aims can be achieved, but in a reversed case, such goals and aims have been cut short,” he was quoted as saying.

Akpabio called on transport unions, parents, as well as passengers, to assist the commission in checking underage drivers in order to achieve the United Nation’s Decade of Action for Safer Road Users. He said that the approved minimum age of 25 years for obtaining a commercial driver’s licence would help in checking road crashes usually caused by underage drivers.
It is true that a large percentage of road crashes in Nigeria are caused by reckless driving from drivers of commercial vehicles such as buses and trucks and in such cases, the casualty rates are usually high.

What are your thoughts on this new decision? Do you think reckless driving has anything to do with the age of the driver and may be more common among drivers aged below 25?

Rihanna talks about Chris Brown.

Rihanna is on the cover of this month's Rolling Stone magazine talking about her relationship with Chris Brown
She says no one, not even her BFF Melissa was allowed to talk to her about Chris Brown.
“I just felt like, why bother? Nobody else is going through it. Nobody would understand.”
Is Rihanna mad at Chris Brown?
“I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that. So when that (stuff) came back it hit me like a ton of bricks. Like, God, you’ve got to be kidding right now. But I got real with myself, and I just couldn’t bury the way I felt.”

Did she think she would be criticized by the public when she reunited with Chris?
“But I decided it was more important for me to be happy, and I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

“When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about (stuff). We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”
Does she think Chris Brown changed since beating her?
“I know it comes off like that. And it doesn’t help. For a long time he was really angry, and he felt like he couldn’t get away from it, no matter what he did. But there’s so many reasons why I ever reconsidered having him in my life. He’s not the monster everybody thinks. He’s a good person. He has a fantastic heart. He’s giving and loving. And he’s fun to be around. That’s what I love about him – he always makes me laugh. All I want to do is laugh, really – and I do that with him.”

“Of course everybody has their opinion about him, because of what he’s done. That will always be there. But he made a mistake, and he’s paid his dues. He’s paid so much. And I know that’s not a place he would ever want to go back to. And sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing.”
Does she support Chris?
“Wait. You think I’m here to rehabilitate Chris? No, no, no. That is not my purpose. Trust me. I could have done that from the jump if I thought that was my job. My job was to take care of myself – and I did. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think Chris was ready. . . ”
“I know. And trust me – it makes me feel great to know that people care. I guess it’s just something that will show with time. There’s nothing I could say that would convince you right now. But we’re in a great place. And I can’t ever see us going back.”
On how much she will put up with from Chris Brown going forward:

“Listen, I’ll tell you right now: I don’t have to take it. If he gives me that again, here’s what I give him: nothing. I just walk away. He doesn’t have that luxury of f**king up again. That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

CAN blasts El'Rufai over Jesus comment.

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN,  on Wednesday, described recent statement linked to former Federal Capital Territory Minister, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, on Jesus Christ, as not only reckless but also indicative of deep-seated moral bankruptcy.
El-Rufai had tweeted on January 28, that “if Jesus criticises Jonathan’s government, Maku, Abati or Okupe will say that he slept with Mary Magdalene”.
Addressing newsmen on the issue, CAN warned El-Rufai that “if he persists in such matters and making such divisive commentaries, he must prepare himself for a very forceful and vigorous reaction from the Church and the Christian community in Nigeria”.
Speaking through its General Secretary, Rev. Musa Asake, CAN warned that the “maturity and dignified restraint of the Christian populace, in the face of inflammatory and provocative statements, should not be taken as license for unbridled assault.
“We urge his religious leaders and political associates to advise him to be far more sober and circumspect and put a padlock on his mouth before he lights the candle that sets our country on fire.
Mallam El- Rufai
“On our part, we urge the Christian community and our Christian youths to continue to be restrained and always seek peace, love and harmony, in spite of the provocations that they are facing from the likes of Nasir El-Rufai and those he represents.
“We must not allow him to turn Nigeria into a cauldron of fire by his reckless, bigoted and twisted commentaries about our Lord or our faith and we must view him for exactly what he is, a failed, desperate, hate-filled and drowning politician, who is now stoking embers of religious division to create a political base for himself amongst his people.
“Nigeria has no place for a religious bigots who delight in insulting the Christian faith.
“We urged the Federal Government to call Nasir El-Rufai to order and not to overlook the possibility that his joke was not only contrived but was actually calculated to create an even greater wedge between Christians and Muslims with the attendant consequences.
“Had it not been for the maturity, fortitude, patience, decency, forgiving nature and deep sense of restraint that the majority of Christians have in our country, El-Rufai would not have been safe anywhere in Nigeria today after cracking such an expensive joke.”

2Face:: I Don’t Know Why I Always Want To Be Around Annie

2Face Idibia has confessed in a recent interview that he does know how to describe the feelings in him which always make want to be around his wife, Annie Macaulay.
The multi award music star said this when asked if he believes in the fairy tale kind of romance or if real life has been something different to him. The Idoma-born singer responded, “Love is understanding, so, for me, I don’t think there is anything fairytale about love.
“I just believe that if there is this person you can cope with or blend with, for some reasons you cannot explain, you just want to hang with this person all the time and anytime you are not with that person, there is something missing, then you can describe that as love.”
When further asked if Annie makes him feel what he described above, 2Face, in his usual humorous manner answered, “Na so e be my brother because if no be like that, we for no dey talk that story by now.”

El-Rufai’s ‘Jesus joke’: “It was insensitive, irresponsible and offensive” – Agande

More reactions are still trailing Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s ‘Jesus joke’ which he retweeted on Twitter earlier today (read his apology HERE)
First, it was Professor Pat Utomi, who slammed his actions saying “I’m at a loss for words! We should draw the line somewhere? The most Sacred of names must never be desecrated an the altar of politics. PU.”

A cleric, Dr. Thomas Agande, has joined in condemning the act, calling it “a very insensitive, irresponsible, and a offensive thing to say about Christ, and an attack on the sensibilities of Christians globally”.
Here is his full statement:

EL-RUFAI DEFILES JESUS CHRIST ON TWITTER…
Earlier today, in his futile attempt to defend Mrs Oby Ezekesili , former FCT minister , Mallam Nasir El-Rufai derided Christians by the use of intimate epithets when referring to our Lord Jesus Christ. He simply defiled Christ on twitter
He went overboard when, on his Twitter page, today January 27, 2013, said our Lord Jesus Christ Were Intimate with Mary Magdalene.
We see this as a very insensitive, irresponsible, and a offensive thing to say about Christ, and an attack on the sensibilities of Christians globally.

El-Rufai betrayed his lack of respect for our Lord Jesus Christ and obvious hatred for Christians. How else can one explain his effrontery and buffoonery when he seemingly jokingly twitted that Christ Were Intimate with Mary Magdalene.

El-Rufai who aspires rule a multi religious nation, should have been circumspect in his use of words when referring to the sacred.
It is on record that less offensive things have been said about the Prophet Mohammed which led to loss of Christian lives.
The former minister has just told Nigerians that he lacks the decency to rule a multi religious nation, if he should display such disrespect for the sacred and thinks it is funny. His Tweet shows he is not a decent man.
He has disregarded the collective sensibilities of Christians all over the world by this very offensive reference to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Signed,

Dr Thomas Agande.

EL-Rufai's Apology

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has apologised for the ‘Jesus joke’ he retweeted on Twitter.

Ogunyemi Bukola, with the handle @zebbook had tweeted: “If Jesus criticized Jonathan’s govt, Maku/Abati/Okupe will say he slept with Mary Magdalene” and El-Rufai copied the tweet and added the letters LWKMD which means ‘Laugh wan kill me die” (Laughter will kill me).

Professor Pat Utomi, a respected voice, immediately went on Facebook to show his displeasure.

“I’m at a loss for words! We should draw the line somewhere? The most Sacred of names must never be desecrated an the altar of politics. PU,” he wrote.

However, El-Rufai has now decided to publish a full statement on his Facebook page, apologising for the joke.

The full statement read:

Hello Friends. I have been travelling and try to catch some sleep in between the last 24 hours and missed all the furore arising from my retweet of Ogunyemi Bukola’s (@zeebook) joke Maku eat al and Jesus. I must say I am taken aback by the extent of desperate misrepresentation of what was an innocuous attempt to show the godlessness of the Jonathanians to denigrate anyone that dares to ask them to be accountable.

To those who were genuinely offended by the retweet, I apologize. I did not meant to offend anyone, neither did the @zeebook I know and featured as one of the Young Voices in my Friday Column. Jesus or Isa Alaihis Salaam is a respected prophet of Islam. Every Muslim accepts this in addition to his miraculous virgin birth. It is therefore absurd for any Muslim believer to disrespect Jesus Christ.

I hope those in this class will see my point of view and accept my apologies for any offense or disappointment caused. And I advise everyone… to read @zeebook’s timeline and mine to read EXACTLY what was tweeted rather than the second-hand reports of certain people who ALWAYS twist whatever I write or not write to achieve their morally-repugnant objectives.

To those in that class of liar – the political contractors who tried to attribute the entire statement to me to destroy perceived political capital, I say keep on doing that till the day your cups will be full. Everything these days is reduced to posturing for 2015,but those doing it do not even know which one of us will be alive to witness the events of that time. I leave all those to God and their conscience.

To the Warriors of God, who misinterpret the Scriptures (both Bilble and Qur’an) and pretend to be capable of fighting His battles, please learn from history. The multiple Crusades and Jihads are yet to convert the entire human race into one religion. If God wished us all to be of one religion, He would have made us so. So please leave God’s work to Him, and just be good to other humans.

I thank all my friends who stood up for me in this saga. They know me better than what the desperate Jonathanians want to paint as El-Rufai. And those that wish to know me a little better should please read my forthcoming book. Thanks and God Bless.

N32b pension fraud: Convicted director fined N720,000

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court yesterday convicted Mr. John Yakubu Yusufu, a former deputy director in the Police Pension Office, for stealing N32.8 billion pension funds.
He is one of the six accused persons facing a 20-count charge of criminal breach of trust slammed against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The alleged offence is punishable under sections 97, 115 (ii), 119, 309 and 315 of the Penal Code Act Cap. 532 Laws of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria 2007.
Justice Abubakar Talba fined Yusuf N250,000 for each of the three-count charge. In the alternative, he is to spend two years in jail — a sentence the EFCC considered a slap on the wrist.
Yusufu pleaded guilty to counts 18, 19 and 20 in which he was alleged to have connived with other accused persons to convert N24.2 billion, N1.3 billion and N1.7 billion belonging to the Pension Office to their own use.
The offence is punishable under Section 309 of the Penal Code Act, Cap 532, Laws of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria 2007.
The other accused persons are the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Atiku Abubakar Kigo; a director, Esai Dangabar, Ahmed Inuwa Wada, John Yakubu Yusufu, Mrs. Veronica Ulonma Onyegbula and Sani Habila Zira.
Mrs. Uzoma Cyril Attang and Mr. Christian Madubuike were joined in the amended charge yesterday.
The other accused persons maintained their plea of not guilty.
Mrs. Attang, who is still in service as Director of Finance and Accounts in the Ministry of Communications, was a director at the Police Pension Office between 2007 and 2008.
The prosecution counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacob (SAN), urged the court to convict Yusuf accordingly.
He also brought an application seeking for the forfeiture of 13 properties scattered between Gombe State GRA and Abuja, which the anti-graft agency seized from Yusufu as proceeds of crime.
He also prayed for an order forfeiting the N325 million found in the convict’s account.
“We urge you to take into account these properties and the money so that the court can make an order for the proceeds from the sales of the properties should go back to the Police Pension Office for the payment of the entitlements of legitimate pensioners,” Jacob told Justice Taiba.
Pleading for leniency, the accused counsel, Mr. Maiyaki Theodore Bala, said: “By pleading guilty, the convict has shown respect to this court and have saved precious time of the court. The court will also find that he is a first time offender without any previous record of conviction, furthermore, he is the head of a family of four, a wife and three children, two of who are university students while one is a primary school pupil. These people depend on him for their survival and well being, including the payment of school fees.
“It is also pertinent to note that he has a chronic heart condition, which has aggravated to a serious case of high blood pressure, a condition that requires frequent medical attention. His aged parents are still alive and due to old age, have attendant medical complications, which require regular medical attention and both depend on him to deal with these”
He begged the court to temper justice with mercy.
On the application for complete forfeiture of the assets and properties confiscated from his client, Maiyaki said the anti-graft agency had taken all he laboured for.
He urged the court to exercise the discretionary powers granted it under Section 309 of the Penal Code in favour of the convict and give him an option of fine so as to serve as incentive to the other accused persons to take the courage of coming forward to admit their guilt where one exists.
Justice Talba noted that the accused is a first time offender and had also saved the time of the court by pleading guilty.
Although he noted that the court was minded to consider the plea for leniency and temper justice with mercy because the convict was remorseful, the trial Judge held that the court also has a duty to rid the country of corruption.
He said Section 309 of the Penal Code under which the accused persons were charged provides for a two-year jail term, with an option of fine or both.
He sentenced Yusufu to 2 years imprisonment for each of the counts or N250,000 fine. The jail terms are to run concurrently.

Singer Frank Ocean wants Chris Brown charged over brawl

Rising R&B artist Frank Ocean wants fellow singer Chris Brown prosecuted following a brawl over a parking space at a Los Angeles-area recording studio, authorities said on Monday.
Brown is serving five years probation for assaulting his on-and-off girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and risks having his probation revoked should charges be filed.
In the incident on Sunday, sheriff's deputies responded to a call about a fight involving six men in West Hollywood. The deputies cited witnesses as saying that the Grammy-winning Brown, 23, punched Ocean during the brief altercation.
No charges have yet been filed, but Ocean "is desirous of prosecution in this incident," said Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Ocean, 25, who is nominated for best new artist and best record for "Thinkin Bout You" at the Grammys in February, said on Twitter on Sunday night that he "got jumped by Chris and a couple guys." He said this resulted in a cut finger.
A representative for Brown has yet to comment.
The "Look at me Now" singer has attempted to rebuild his career and public image since 2009, but his entourage and that of Canadian rapper Drake were involved in a June 2012 brawl in a New York nightclub. No arrests or charges were brought in that case.
Brown and Ocean are both nominated in the best urban contemporary album category at the Grammys, which take place on February 10 in Los Angeles.

BREAKING NEWS: Boko Haram declares Cease fire

A self-proclaimed commander of the Boko Haram sect in Maiduguri, capital of Nigeria’s north-eastern state of Borno has announced a peace offer , even as the state was horrified by another brutal killing
The commander who identified himself as Sheikh Muhammed Abdulazeez spoke to journalists Monday in Maiduguri, where the Islamist sect known as Boko Haram got its start.
Abdulazeez described himself as a second-in-command to sect leader Abubakar Shekau and said there would be a ceasefire as the Borno government had promised to release some sect members.
Abdulazeez reportedly met with Governor Kashim Shettima today.
While a government official later welcomed the announcement, it came as soldiers and police still hold Boko Haram members and violence continued unabated in the region.
A local resident of Gajiganna, a nearby village, said he saw eight bodies — some decapitated — after an attack, that bore the violent trademark of Boko Haram.
Boko Haram had offered unilateral ceasefire in the past, which it never kept, choosing instead to launch brutal attacks on the Nigerian state.
The group declared the cease fire in Maiduguri at about 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The talks, PREMIUM TIMES learnt, has been on for a while.
The group is led by one Abu Mohamed Abdulazeez.

$1 Million Gold And Diamond Bra Now Available For Sale

If you have an extra $1 million, You should go out and buy yourself a bra.
A Birmingham shop is selling a bra made of 18 carat gold with over 500 carats of diamonds for a whopping $1 million.
The diamond laced lingerie, sold in Birmingham Estate and Jewelry Buyers, was created by the store owner Anthony Aubry, who named the bra after his wife, Rita.
“If you have that amount of money then someone will say ‘Oh, I have a bra of $1 million,” or some people would put on display at their home or something, and some people, believe it or not, would actually want to use it,” Aubry told the news media.
According to Aubry, the bra took over three months to design and it took a group of workers almost a year to create.
Aubry said the main difference between his design and the famous Victoria Secret one million dollar “Fantasy” bra is that the masterpieces of that chain store have “material in them and the diamonds are embedded in the fabric.”
Aubrey’s bra however is solid gold.

Obama urged to resign over Beyonce's scandal

A rising chorus of congressional Republicans are calling on President Obama to acknowledge that the pop singer Beyoncé lip-synched during his inaugural festivities on Monday and resign from office, effective immediately.

“By lip-synching the national anthem, Beyoncé has cast a dark cloud over the President’s second term,” said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). “The only way President Obama can remove that cloud is by resigning from office at once.”
While many in the media have blamed Beyoncé for the lip-synching controversy, Mr. Paul said, “We must remember that this happened on President Obama’s watch.”
Mr. Paul said that the White House’s refusal to comment on the Beyoncé crisis “only serves the argument that this President has something to hide.”
“If Beyoncé lip-synched the national anthem, how do we know President Obama didn’t lip-sync his oath of office?” he said. “If that’s the case, he’s not legally President. But just to be on the safe side, he should resign anyway.”
Mr. Paul also blasted Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her testimony on Benghazi before the Senate today: “Her tactic of answering each and every question we asked her didn’t fool anyone.”

"Davido did not sack me, I left him" Asa Asika

The news that David Adeleke popularly known as Davido had sacked his manager, Asa Asika, started late last year as a usual social media gist. Some reports had it that Davido rudely showed his manager the exit door, while others alleged that Davido’s super rich, billonaire father gave Asika the marching order, following the controversies and negative media reports that trailed Davido’s fun-loving and flamboyant music career in the past year. Others said that Asika was shown the door unceremoniously because of his inability to curb the youngster’s excesses in public and his penchant for strange bedfellows whose bedroom photographs keep popping up on the Internet.

However, in an interview with Saturday Beats, Asika described all the speculations and allegations as “untrue”.

Asika said,

“Really, I don’t like to comment on an issue that requires me to negatively discuss my friends in the media. All I want to say right now is, my parting with my artiste is a joint decision and amicable. I enjoyed a cordial relationship with his father also.

“So, it is false that he or his very accommodating father gave me the boot; it’s a tough decision I took by myself with my artiste’s consent. He cannot tell you otherwise.”

Davido could not be reached as at press time.

Catholic church hasn't pulled out of CAN

The Director of Social Communications at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, CSN, Rev. Father Ralph Madu, told Vanguard yesterday that the reports originating from a Catholic Monsignor in Abeokuta to the effect that the Church has pulled out of the Association is not entirely true.
According to him, “there are certain issues the Catholic Church would want to be properly thrashed out before it would resume full membership of the CAN. We have issues which we want to be addressed by the umbrella body.
“We have not pulled out of CAN and we cannot pull out of the Association. In fact in another few weeks we will make a public statement on that,” he stated without itemizing the issues that have warranted the Catholic Church to take “this painful decision to suspend participation in CAN meetings at the national level until such a time the leadership of CAN reverse back to the original vision, mission and objective of the association.”

NCC to be investigated over N53 billion Loss and others.

CSNAC mentioned various allegations of financial impropriety against the NCC.
A civil society group, Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC), has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to investigate the shady sales of Telecommunication Spectrum by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) that are alleged to have resulted in a loss of about N53 billion revenue to the government.
A statement released on Thursday by Chairman of CSNAC, Olarenwaju Suraju, stated that during the tenure of sacked executive commissioner of the NCC, Bashir Gwandu, the telecommunication regulatory body sold three valuable Spectrum licences for pittance.
First, NCC sold a 450MHz Spectrum worth over N7.5 billion ($50 million) to OpenSky limited, an unlicensed company believed to be owned by controversial business mogul, Emeka Offor, for N900 million ($6 million), the group said.
The statement also claimed that there is an allegation that the NCC granted a dubious waiver of N1 billion to a telecommunication company, MTS. According to the statement, the waiver was personally applied for by the Minister of Communication, Omobola Johnson. It was also alleged that after this waiver was granted, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Eugene Juwah, got some “sweet shares” from MTS.
CSNAC stated further that a 10MHz slot in the 800MHz Spectrum was sold to a South African owned company, Smile Nigeria Communication Limited for N2.5 billion (13million Euros) when similar spectrum in Europe is valued at over 1 billion Euros.
According to CSNAC money lost by the government from the deals is “estimated to be sufficient for the provision of 60 international standard hospitals across the country.”
The organisation said selling these licenses for pittance will stifle competition as it gives the beneficiaries an undue edge over other investors in the industry.
“It is a wonder that the Nigerian government will be willing to lose billions in revenue without proper investigation of these allegations especially where the government has had to borrow to finance its budget,” CSNAC stated.
It therefore called on the EFCC to thoroughly investigate these allegations with the aim of retrieving the monies lost through the ‘dubious’ deals.

President Comes under fire

The Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen and an opposition party on Thursday took a swipe at President Goodluck Jonathan over his comment that Boko Haram was not caused by poverty or misrule.
Jonathan had in an interview with the Cable News Network’s Christiane  Amanpour, Wednesday night, said, “The sect was not born out of misrule, definitely not; sometimes people feel it is a result of poverty, but no. Boko Haram is a local terror group and that is why we call on the rest of the World to help us.”
But the Convener of the Coalition of Northern Politicians, Academics, Professionals and Businessmen, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, disagreed with claims by the President.
Mohammed said in a telephone interview with one of our correspondents that it amounted to begging the issue for the President to deny the link between poverty, misrule, bad governance and general insecurity.
The member of parliament in the Second Republic, said, “I don’t agree with him (Jonathan). If he denies that poverty, bad governance and misrule right through history is not responsible for violence, then let him tell us what is.
“If he says it is political, everything that happens in a political environment is political. What he should now tell us is if poverty is not an issue and if bad governance is not responsible for part of our problems in Nigeria, let him tell us whether or not these are political.
“In any case, if indeed what is responsible for the violence and insecurity in the country is politics, what is the solution to it?
“What is he planning to do? What are his own ideas of dealing with this problem? Or is he saying that because they are political, we should all stop playing politics?”
Also, the Executive Director of Civil Rights Congress, Mallam Shehu Sani, faulted Jonathan’s assertion that the Boko Haram insurgency was not a product of misrule and poverty.
Sani, in a separate telephone interview with one of our correspondents, said the President’s assertion demonstrated his lack of understanding of the issue.
Sani said, “What we should understand clearly is that the President is completely lacking in knowledge and grasp of the situation on the ground.
“And one comment after another, he has completely exposed his ignorance about the root causes and solution to the Boko Haram violence.
“The emergence and sustenance of the Boko Haram violence is remotely connected to the years of destruction, injustice and iniquity in the northern part of Nigeria.
“The major foot soldiers of the group are clearly people who are from the lower ladder of the society.
“It is not possible to find people who are economically comfortable engaging in violence.”
When asked about the privileged background of the underwear bomber, Abdulmutallab, Sani said, “That is Mutallab as an individual but this is a group. Mutallab acted as an individual; he acted alone.
“He enjoyed privileges and got connected to a foreign terrorist group, what we are talking about is a homegrown terrorist group.
“I am sure those who are being arrested are foot soldiers only; you don’t see people from the middle class or the upper class.”
On his part, the spokesman for the Congress for Progressive Change, Mr. Retime Fashakin, said Boko Haram was a result of the Peoples Democratic Party’s misrule.
He said, “Most probably, Boko Haram evolved out of the hopelessness of PDP’s misrule in the last 13 years. A hegemony that refused to reduce the burgeoning army of unemployed youths is definitely stoking the fire of discontent in the land.
“Starting from the Obasanjo regime to date, Nigeria’s political economy has always been driven to satisfy the whims and caprices of the Breton Wood institutions and their choking economic prescriptions.
“Do you now see why this will naturally encourage people’s discontent? If you understand the fact the Nigeria has about six times the income in the last 13 years than between 1960 and 1998, then you will come to terms with profligacy embedded in the PDP brand. These resources have been frittered away through legendary corruption and anti-people schemes.”
National Chairman, Action Congress of Nigeria, Chief Bisi Akande, who spoke through his media assistant, Mr Lani Baderinwa, on Thursday, asked rhetorically, “If poverty and misrule are not the cause of Boko Haram, what then is it?”
“Majority of Nigerians believe Boko Haram is caused by poverty while many people believe it is due to the jostle for 2015 presidential ticket within the Peoples Democratic Party,” he said.
An online information network, Conscience Reports, on Thursday in a statement made available to journalists by its Chief Executive, Mr. Eneruvie Enakoko, said the CNN interview had exposed the President’s lack of touch with the realities of the nation.
“The Amanpour interview further revealed that the President is neither in charge nor on top of issues; he seems to have lost touch with reality, and he clearly has lost control, because the Nigeria he spoke of last night (Wednesday) certainly does not exist; it exists only perhaps in his dreams,” Enakoko said.
He said the President was “at best untruthful” in answering questions from his interviewer.

SMS to cost N4.00 flat

According to a directive by the Nigerian Communications Commission, With effect from February 5, all domestic Off-Net Short Messaging Service (SMS), will cost N4.00.  The directive, which was signed by the Director, Legal and Regulatory Services of NCC, Ms. Josephine Amuwa, in a statement issued by the commission’s Head of Media and Public Relations , Reuben Muoka, has been communicated to the operators since January 3, 2013.
But she maintained that the commission will not place a price cap yet on International SMS.
The commission, she said, arrived at the new price cap after due considerations of the submissions made by the operators at various consultative meetings.
She said having evaluated and analyzed SMS traffic information provided by the operators, the commission noted that “There was a general recognition that the cost of SMS is too high, especially in view of the interconnection rate of N1.02 for SMS as determined by the commission in 2009.”

Beyonce talks about her fake pregnancy

Beyonce has spoken about the rumours that went around that her pregnancy was fake:
“I felt like I kind of had to protect my mother, because when people made up the silliest rumor about me not really being pregnant, she was there when I went through all of those things. And my sister. They were very, very defensive. It’s not personal to me, and it comes along with the job, but the lack of respect - people will just go too far sometimes.”
On giving birth to her daughter Blue Ivy Carter:
“When I gave birth, that was the first time I truly let go and surrendered. And it taught me how amazing that feels… Giving birth made me realize the power of being a woman. I have so much more substance in my life. And expressing that excitement and that sensuality and the connection I have with my husband—I’m a lot more comfortable with that now. I actually feel like my child introduced me to myself.”

How Do I Tell My Husband He Smells?

My husband is very fit, handsome, dreamy. He has good hygiene. But in the past few years, he's developed an odor that smells like freezer burn mixed with B.O. It totally turns me off and has gotten worse, 10 times worse, now that I'm pregnant. I really can't mention it to him because i don't want to risk hurting my husband's feelings. What do I do? My husband is dating my niece

My niece stays with me. I have been responsible for her education and her up keep before I got married to my husband. So when I got married she moved in with me. She passed out of secondary school last year and still at home waiting for her admission. Her closeness with my husband is somethingI don’t understand. She is freer with him than me. Something tells me they are about to start an affair. This faithful night I called my husband and asked him what was going on between them, he said nothing. I told him to remember that this girl is my niece, my blood and he should be very careful. He fought me over it and I saw more signs. I told my grandma and my aunty (her own mom) they said I was lying that I should give them a better reason if I want her out of my house. I feel like sending her out right now but I don’t have a genuine reason yet. I am not a kid, I know when something is about to happen. I can read through their body language. I sometimes hear her discuss withmy husband in the living room and when I move closer she stops. I hear her voice clearly and when my husband leaves for the office I do call her and ask what they were discussing. This girl will start swearing that she didn’t outer a word to my husband not to talk of discussing anything with him. I need to catchthem this week. More so, her education is finished because I am no longer interested in spending a dime on her anymore. Imagine hearing your niece voice and she still has theeffrontery to swear that it wasn’t her voice I heard. I am totally mad right now and want this girl out immediately. Who knows how I can catch them?

You have no right to call me ugly-- Segun Arinze

Nollywood actor and former president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Segun Arinze, and his family, were featured on the front cover of a style magazine recently and most blogs published it. Some readers made unsavoury comments about the actor’s wife as well as his looks which for a long time, have remained the b*tt of rude jokes – particularly his seeming large eyeballs. But this time, the ‘black arrow’ star will not roll over and let the subliminals hurled at himself and his wife pass, without a response. The response below is a text message from the star actor yesterday evening to popular blogger, Linda Ikeji, which she published on her blog and informationng.com culled it. Dear Linda, I want to thank you for having such a wonderful blog. Having said that, I want to say despite the fact that we have freedom of expression doesn’t give people the liberty to be reckless with words without verifying facts first. Someone said my wife cut across as someone rude. That’s a big lie! She’s the most courteous person you can think of. Sometimes people like to take the piss. Now my full names are Segun Aina Padonou. My father, though late, was Yoruba from Badagry. My mum is Ibo. Arinze is the Ibo name given to me by my mum. So I used it as Pseudonym. That’s why you have Segun Arinze. And as at the last time I looked in the mirror, I didn’t see any ugly Segun. No human has a right to call another ugly because you ain’t God. You can’t give life so don’t curse or swear VIA:Talk of Naijau

Jonathan attempts to reconcile with Obasanjo

President Goodluck Jonathan has begun moves to reconcile with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, as a means of ending the rift between them. Jonathan and Obasanjo had fallen apart over the last few months, following critical comments made by Obasanjo about the government. In a recent interview on Cable Network News, the former president criticised Jonathan’s handling of the Boko Haram insurgency and advised him to initiate a dialogue with the extremist sect. Obasanjo told the CNN in the interview that Jonathan had been applying less of dialogue and more of force in solving the Boko Haram issue. But the Presidency, in a reaction to the ex-President’s submission, said Obasanjo’s position on the Boko Haram issue had been contradictory. Both men also disagreed on the choice of the chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees. While Jonathan rooted for a former BOT Chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, his predecessor reportedly backed a former PDP National Chairman, Dr. Ahmadu Ali. The division between the President and his predecessor led to a stalemate at the last meeting of BOT members at the Presidential Villa on January 8. After a three-hour meeting, BOT members failed to produce a new chairman of the board as expected. The meeting was meant to elect a replacement for Obasanjo who resigned from the position last year for personal reasons. The crisis over the BOT chairmanship also snowballed into moves by governors elected on the platform of the party to remove the National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, over his alleged meddling in the politics of Adamawa State PDP and unilateral dissolution of the executive council of the state chapter. Matters came to a head when a Federal High Court in Abuja on January 11 sacked PDP National Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola. The national secretary was nominated by Obasanjo and the governors and his removal was seen as a big blow to the former president’s control of the party in the South-West. However, Jonathan made a U-turn on his rift with Obasanjo when he agreed to reach out to the former president at a meeting with some former national chairmen of the party on Wednesday evening at the Presidential Villa. The former chairmen were said to have been led to the parley by Tukur. “The party elders and the President spoke at length on the ways to resolve the crisis in the party. But one of the decisions reached was the need for the President to mend fences with former President Obasanjo. “They believe that once the two leaders are together, the tension in the party will be reduced to the barest minimum,” a PDP leader who attended the meeting said. In line with the decision, our correspondent learnt that Jonathan had been prevailed upon to try and attend a civic reception organised in honour of Obasanjo by the South-West PDP in Abeokuta, the  Ogun State capital on Saturday. The event, which began on Friday, would be concluded with a reception on Saturday. Jonathan travelled to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on Friday for an Extraordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States Authority of Heads of State and Government. It was also learnt that as part of the reconciliation, Jonathan may withdraw support for Anenih’s BOT chairmanship bid. Although Political Adviser to the President, Dr. Ahmed Gulak, denied the existence of a rift between both men, he said Jonathan would not interfere with the selection of a new BOT chairman. He said the President and members of his administration had great respect for Obasanjo and regarded him as “a father.” Gulak said, “There was never a rift between the President and Obasanjo over BOT chairmanship. The president will work with whoever emerges as BOT chairman.” He said what arose at the BOT meeting was a constitutional issue over the tenure of some BOT members, insisting that the relationship between Jonathan and Obasanjo was cordial. At today’s reception, the national leadership is expected to meet with some aggrieved members of the South-West PDP. Those invited to the meeting apart from Obasanjo are , PDP National Vice-Chairman (South-West), Mr. Segun Oni; Chief Bode George; Chief Dapo Sarumi; Prof. Tunde Adeniran; Chief Bode Olajumoke; and Otunba Oyewole Fashawe. Others are Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun; Chief Ebenezer Babatope; Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo; Chief Yekeen Adeojo; Chief Lekan Balogun; Chief Richard Akinjide; Chief Tunji Olurin; and Chief Joju Fadairo. Oyinlola and Oni confirmed that they would be at the reception for Obasanjo as well as the reconciliation parley. Media aide to Oyinlola, Ayo Olaiya, who spoke with one of our correspondents on Thursday, in Osogbo, said, “Oyinlola is already in the South-West. He will be around for the reception for Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.” Oni’s media aide, Mr. Lere Olayinka said, “Segun Oni will be at Abeokuta on Saturday. As per the meeting, it is natural as the zonal chairman of the PDP that if any meeting is going to be held in the South-West, he would be invited to such meetings and he will surely attend.” Factional leader of the PDP in Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu, told one of our correspondents that he received an invitation to the reception for Obasanjo, but warned that nobody could dictate to his group on its determination to push Oyinlola, Oni and another chieftain, Bode Mustapha, out of leadership positions in the party. “They just want to use that reception ceremony for Obasanjo to try to talk to some people to accept their fate. You tell me what will they be discussing there? “Whatever they want to discuss there is an afterthought. Tukur is an elderly man and an intelligent person and as the father to all of us, it is normal for him to use that occasion to talk to some leaders. “But you will see that some of these people you think will attend that meeting may not turn up at the end of the day. May be 80 per cent of them may not come. “It was not Tukur that removed Oyinlola. He only followed the rule of law and implemented the order of the court. So, there is no way he would go there and tell them that the court was wrong. That is not possible,” Kashamu said. The party leader also said no member of the national leadership of the party could reverse the decision of the court. “I believe that the problem is not even about the national body prevailing on us to back down. It is in the interest of the national body to always show respect for the rule of law. “Don’t forget, PDP is the largest party in the whole of Africa and so there is no way they will not have respect for the rule of law,” he added. Reports Reaching me clearly shows that what would have been considered a rumour has been confirmed true. This was made known in an official press statement released by Koller tunes, declaring that the artist is no longer signed under their label.
In the statement released today and signed by the Kollertunz boss, Kolawole Olugboyega, it was disclosed that Nigerian Rapper, Flowssick’s contract with the records was terminated over “unresolved issues”
“The management of Kollertunz Records would like to officially inform the general public of the termination of its management and working relationship with Abiola David Aina also known as “Flowssick” over protracted contract issues” the statement read.
“Our organization took this decision in the face of unresolved and complex negotiations which had been one sided with little consideration for the part of the label after years of investment and long working hours done for the establishment of our former artiste.
“We would like to state henceforth that we have no formal business relationship with flowssick and that he can be reached by any means he chooses to. We trust that the management of flowssick will observe their pledge they made to the label.” It further reads.

I have fallen in Love with my cousin-confused girl

Please, I need your readers candid advice on this issue.

I met this really hot guy in a bbm group and we hit it off immediately. He wanted a relationship but we couldn't have one because of the distance. He lives in New York and I, Nigeria. We kept in touch though. He was in Nigeria recently and we met briefly. He was everything I wanted in a guy. He's a god literally.

Imagine my horror when I walked into my dad's family house and saw him sitting with my grandma and my dad. The look on his face was indescribable when my dad introduced me as his daughter. We had not met earlier because my dad stopped talking to his elder sister (his mum) way before they got married over some stupid mistake my aunt made.

Apparently, he came back to settle the dispute between the family members. Now, he says he's in love with me. We were always together through out our stay in my country home (our parents think it's the same bond his mum and my dad shared when they were younger that extended to us).

How do I tell my family that I have been intimate with my cousin and that I'm in love with him? God knows I have done my best toforget about him but it's just not working. I think about him all the time and he's having the same problem!

How do I let go of the only guy I have ever loved? I'm so confused!

NCAA Warns Passengers To Expect Flight Delays And Cancellations Because Of Harmattan

Passengers should expect flight delays, diversions or cancellations, owing to poor terminal visibility caused by the current harmattan haze, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has said.
The Director General of the agency, Harold Demuren, said this on Monday in Lagos in an advisory circular he issued to all pilots and airline operators.
It was made available to aviation journalists by the agency’s spokesman, Sam Adurogboye. “Where terminal visibility falls below the prescribed weather minimal  flights are bound to be delayed, diverted or cancelled.
“This advisory circular is intended to alert all pilots to the hazards of harmattan haze and it offers guidance to help prevent accidents caused by this weather phenomenon.
“The airlines and their flight crews should keep passengers informed of the situation and of the potential for flight delays and possible cancellations. Safety considerations must always be the highest priority,” Mr. Demuren said. Mr. Demuren said the harmattan haze was usually comparable to heavy fog, and could considerably reduce air-to-ground visibility.
He added that during this period, Aerodrome visibility might fall below the prescribed minimal standard.
“And in severe conditions, dust haze can blot out runways and markers over wide areas, making visual navigation impossible”, he said.
Mr. Demuren advised pilots to recognize harmattan haze as a hazard and exercise maximum restraint when the condition was observed or forecast.
He said that it is mandatory for all pilots to obtain weather briefing from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NIMET.
“This should include departure, en-route and destination weather information prior to flight operations”, he said.
Flights coming in and out of Lagos were last Friday delayed for several hours, owing to the harmattan haze.

The only other nation that comes close to that is Thailand who president is YingLuck of which Good is better than Ying. Why can't they see that our President is one of the best dressed in the world always standing out at international events. Or our president is one with a Christ Like heart dining with ex-convicts and Crimnals. Why can't they notice our Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison Madueke is one of the hottest Female Ministers in the world. These are achievements and good things they should report but they will never report that.

How Tiwa Savage got Multi Million Naira Pepsi deal

For Kelekele Love singer, Tiwa Savage, performing free-of-charge can be rewarding at times. Revealing how she secured her multi-million-naira Pepsi endorsement deal last year, the singer who relocated from the UK to Nigeria a couple of years ago and who has established herself as one of the hottest female contemporary acts said that she ironically got the mouth-watering deal at an event where she performed free-of-charge.
“Funny enough, I didn’t charge a dime for the show which got me the Pepsi endorsement. Sometimes I get paid for playing and sometimes I don’t. The show that got me the endorsement deal was one of such shows.
“After my performance, a guy just walked up to me and said he liked my performance. He said he would love to do stuff with me as well.
“Before I knew it, Pepsi ran a survey to find out who was the most popular female and male artistes and I came out tops. I landed the deal alongside Wizkid who also emerged as the most popular male act; it was like a dream.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to get married un-officially

According to UK Sun's report, reality star Kim Kardashian is getting married again to rapper boyfriend Kanye West.
However it won’t be official because she is yet to divorce ex-hubby Kris Humphries.
According to sources close to the couple, Kim and rapper Kanye are tired of waiting for her split from her basket baller hubby before they can be a couple, officially or not. As a result they are going ahead with their own commitment ceremony, where they will exchange vows and rings in front of close family and friends. Kim who is considering changing her surname to Kardashian-West filed for divorce from Kris after just 72 days as man and wife. Her first marriage was to music producer DAMON THOMAS, which ended in 2004 after four years.
The commitment ceremony will be followed by a no-expense-spared party at a private beach mansion in Malibu.
A source said: “Kanye is very traditional.
“He’d have liked to marry Kim now they are having a baby". “But with Kim still married to someone else, there is not much he can do".
It won’t be official like a wedding because Kanye wants that to be extra special when the time comes. But they will still exchange ring, they just won’t wear them on their wedding fingers. One of Kim’s friends is lending them his £7million Malibu beach mansion and the entire bash will take place there. It’ll be a lot more low-key than a wedding.”
Kim’s divorce case from hubby Kris Humphries commences on 15th February,2013.

US varsity Honours Obasanjo

An African Institute has been established by Valparaiso University in Indiana, United States in honour of Nigeria’s former leader, Olusegun Obasanjo. The institute, which was inaugurated on Saturday, would serve as a cultural exchange centre between it and Nigeria in particular and Africa at large. It will also serve as an exchange and resource centre for professional studies of Nigerian/African commerce and culture among students, artists, writers, educators and politicians. .
Speaking at the ceremony, Obasanjo identified corruption, insecurity, and infrastructure decay as major problems confronting the Africa.
Obasanjo said that almost every country in Africa had one form of security problem or the other, pointing out that insecurity would not allow development to thrive.
On the security challenges facing Nigeria, Obasanjo said that government must properly identify the remote causes of the activities of the Boko Haram sect.
Obasanjo stressed the need for more attention to be placed on the improvement of infrastructure within the continent.
He said the issue of human development should not be such that the individuals were allowed to leave the continent and be servicing other land. The former president, however, appealed to Nigerians living abroad to return home where their knowledge would best be utilised.
“We must develop people and retain them, we must encourage most of them that are in Diaspora, to move back home,” Obasanjo said.
The former Nigerian leader said that corruption should not
be underestimated, adding that it is a serious issue in virtually every aspect of life.
“If you pretend that there is no corruption, the world already knows there is corruption,” he said.
Earlier, the President of the 154 year old university, Dr Mark Heckler, said the exemplary leadership of Obasanjo in Africa and in Nigeria was a driving force for the choice of honouring him.
Heckler said that the university was established in 1859, stressing that the establishment of the Africa Institute was a dream fulfilled.
Prof Ade Adefuye, the Nigeria Ambassador to the U.S, also commended the University “for giving honour to whom honour is due”.
Adefuye described Obasanjo as someone who had contributed greatly to the development of Nigeria.
Present at the event were Dr. Ewa Ewa, Chief Financing Officer, Ilinois Human Rights Commission, Chief Bayo Ojo, former Attorney General of the Federation and Mr Frank Nweke, Director-General, Nigerian Economic Summit Group. Others were Prof. Julius Okojie, Executive Secretary, National University Commission and Nigeria Consul-General in New York, Habib Habu. [PMN]

Okey Bakassi's Letter to God

We know Nollywood comedian Okey Bakassi is a funny man, but this time around, he's gone religious!
Read his letter to God and let's have your take.
Dear Almighty Sir,
I don’t know what time it is in your area so I’ll simply say good day Sir. I’m very grateful for making me experience 2013 and I’m sorry for all my sins in 2012.
I would have promised not to sin in 2013 but I don’t want to lie because you already know my future.
Please help me be a better and more successful person this year. Also protect and bless my family, friends and fans.
I hereby present some personal issues before you:
1. Will Nigeria be better this year or ever? If no I seek your approval to go and take up citizenship somewhere else but if yes be fast before they empty our treasury and our oil wells run dry.
2. Please help us with the exchange rate. Help de Naira catch up with the dollar.
3. Have you relocated Hell to Nigeria? If no, what are Boko Haram and Kidnappers doing here?
4. Do we allow GEJ do another term? If no please do something before we ‘Occupy Everywhere’.
5. Adjust the brain of our youths so that their savings will end up in bank accounts not boutiques and night clubs.
6. There are more diseases now than brands of condom available. What do we do? Urgent answer required.
7. Please is your son coming soon? We have forgotten the meaning of true love since the last time he came.
8. Please I need your BB pin if possible, I want to send you pictures and links of what pastors and government officials are doing with our money. I guess you already know.
On behalf of my wife and children I say thank you.
Yours Faithfully
Okey ‘Bakassi’ Onyegbule

Kanye's relationship with Kim Kardashian is really hurting his career

According to market research Kanye West has officially fallen off...

From Huffington Post
According to data analyzed from E-Poll Market Research, which assigns stars an "E-Score" to measure their marketability, West's fragile popularity has indeed made a southbound U-turn in the past half year. West first stepped out with his new girlfriend in April 2012. A coincidence? Likely not.
"He was starting to bounce back from [the 2009 VMA incident with Taylor Swift]," E-Poll Senior Director of Marketing and Communications Randy Parker told the Huffington Post. "There does appear to there is some sort of fallback or blowback from him hooking up with Kim. One of the things we measure is an attribute called 'Overexposed'. We find that people use it as a general way of saying, 'I’ve had it with you. You’ve just gone a little too far.' I’m guessing his overexposed score is quite high."

EFCC grants Charles Soludo bail

The past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Charles Soludo is back home after interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with an alleged N750million bribery.
The money was alleged to have been offered in the process of awarding the polymer contract for the printing of N20 notes.
Sources confirmed last night that he was grilled twice before he was granted bail yesterday. Some CBN officials were said to have received bribe from Securency International Pty for the purpose of getting the contract.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) had earlier probed the alleged N750million bribe offered by Securency to win the contract.
According to findings, Soludo was asked to go late Friday-night after he had been quizzed for the second time. He wrote what a source described as a “useful statement.”
But the EFCC asked the former CBN Governor to “be ready to make himself available for more interrogation.”
A top source, who spoke in confidence, said: “We have interacted with Soludo but this is just the first part of the series of interrogation we are going to have with him.
“Soludo gave an insight into how the contract was awarded. We will cross-check his statement with those of other stakeholders.

"I'm pregnant for my Step-son"

My name is Olajumoke , I'm 35 years old and I've been married for the past 17 years. For 17 years I've been praying for the fruit of the womb. I and my husband have been to different hospitals for medical check up, but all to No avail. The Doctors said we are both fertile (meaning we can Both make babies).

I married my husband at age 18 while I was still a virgin. My husband(Joshua) has always been there for me in everything, understanding and supportive in our trying times. About 2 years ago, my childhood friend advised me on what to do….following her advice I remembered "Bayo" my 22 years old house help.continue for full story… Bayo has been with us since he was 8 years old, we treated him as if he was ours. I started talking to him about his personal life. Few months later, my husband traveled to his home town to see his people, so I utilized the opportunity!

I locked Bayo in my room and begged him to have s*x with me,He refused at first, then I threatened him that I would Send him back to d village….he later agreed, so we had s*x 5 times b4 day break! The next day my husband came back

13days later, I Became pregnant, unknowing to Bayo that I was pregnant, I gave him 1million naira, told him to take d money and Go back to the village……..the lil chap was Greatfully satisfied!

I eventually told my husband that I was pregnant and he instantly became the most happiest person in the world, he called his mother, updated them about the news and they started buying kid clothing and Toys. Few months later we did scan and the doctors told us that it was twin. Glory be to God, I gave birth to taiwo(female) and kehinde(male).

2 days ago, my husband woke me up in d middle of the night, held me close to his arms, looked into my eyes, and asked me "Jumoke, who is the father of our kids" I was shocked, scared that he must have known some how, I just knew he had known because of d way he asked me, I didn't know what to say, I was so shy bcus I knew I've betrayed his trust, I looked at his eyes and I burst into tears…….. he then told me "jumoke, before u start talking, I have a confession to make" I cleaned my face and sat upright.

he went ahead and told me how he had Unprotected s*x with a girl in his village and contacted STD before he got married, and how he didn't treat it for a very long time, that eventually when he went to the hospital, the doctors told him that the std he didn't treat on time had made him sterile(can't impregnate a woman) He said he treated the STD b4 he got married to me, and he has always known that he was sterile, and that all those test we've been doing that he has been paying the doctors to give me a wrong result.

He also added that the woman he had s*x with back then got pregnant and the child is BAYO our house help. He also went ahead by saying that he has always wanted to tell me to look for someone to impregnate me but he just didn't have the balls to do so. But now that I have done it, he'll like to know who the father is. "I fainted" What do u think Jumoke should say if she finally gain consciousness

Don-Jazzy denies accusations

Don Jazzy has emphatically denied that he ordered thugs to beat up Lagos socialite, Princewill Ojuwku.
The former Auto Lounge manager accused Don Jazzy of battery, dehumanization and oppression following a row with Don Jazzy at his newly opened club POP on December 21. The scuffle led to the music producer ordering his thugs to beat “the life out of him.”
The Lagos socialite, who claimed he was suffering from constant migraine headache and still cannot wear shoes, also claimed Don Jazzy sent a text message, asking for his account number to send across money for his bills.
“It’s not about the money, this could happen to anyone,it is abuse of power and needs to be checked before someone is killed all in the name of the other being a celebrity. Don Jazzy stood there pinging on his blackberry as his thugs beat me up, that is the last thing I remember before I fainted…..” he said.
However, the music producer’s camp has denied that such incident ever happened.
“Don Jazzy didn’t order anybody to beat anybody up. These accusations are absolutely false,” a rep for Mavin Records told NET in a telephone conversation.
The source did not give further details, but confirmed the matter is still under investigation.

NAFDAC warns against buying the drug (HIV/Aids)

The Nigerian Professor who was widely reported to have found the cure for HIV/AIDS a few days ago has recanted his claim. In a five-paragraph statement, Professor Isaiah Ibeh, Dean, School of Basic Medical Science of University of Benin (UNIBEN) expressed regrets over the publication of his acclaimed discovery of a drug that could cure HIV/AIDS, saying that the publication was a misrepresentation of what actually transpired.
“The true position is that some observations of our Research are preliminary and the research is still ongoing. I am very sorry for the embarrassment this has caused the University of Benin and Professional Colleagues, realizing that there are procedures of reporting such Scientific result,” he said.
Authorities of the University had earlier debunked the claim made by the Professor in an official pronouncement saying the University was not carried along in the research and the Professor did not follow due process. In another development, the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has begun a probe into Professor Ibeh’s claim that he had discovered a herbal drug capable of curing AIDS. The Director-General of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii, told Punch on  Thursday that the agency had invited Ibeh to prove his claim. He warned members of the public against buying the drug because it had not been subjected to standard scientific protocols. He said the don was wrong going public, saying it was the duty of the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, to make the announcement after tests by NAFDAC.
“The agency wishes to state that this herbal drug, which he claimed to have undergone a series of successful tests, has never been presented to NAFDAC for evaluation of efficacy and safety.” “This bogus claim of efficacy without following the appropriate procedure for drug evaluation is capable of misleading the public, especially those that have HIV/AIDs infection as there is no known official or scientifically proven cure for HIV/AIDS infection till date,” he was quoted as saying.

15 things you should know about Patience Jonathan

1) She is older than President Goodluck Jonathan. Okay, calm down, not what you are thinking. She was born in Port Harcourt on the 25th October 1957 while the don himself was born on 20th November, 1957. Ok, just like a month.

2. She holds a National Certificate of Education (NCE) in Mathematics & Biology from the Rivers State College of Education and later bagged a degree from University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) in Biology & Psychology. She passed WASSCE in 1980, long before many of her haters were born. Ok, no lele. Let’s ride on.

3. Although she started out as a teacher at Stella Maris College in Port Harcourt (HajMari, where are you o?), she later veered briefly into the banking sector, establishing Akpo Community Bank in 1997, the first of its kind in Port Harcourt, and later served as the Marketing Manager of Imieto Community Bank.

4. According to Baridah Job Karabah, a former houseboy, her nickname back in the days was ‘Mama Ice Cream’ (and that of the President was simply ‘Oga Joe’ ). Ice cream ke? Yes, and that was because she used to cool (abi na freeze…lol) ice cream in her large deep freezers. The ice cream is then later distributed for sale. He says business was ‘booming’ for her then. President Jonathan was at that time, a senior lecturer at the Rivers State College of Education. And yes, she had a poultry too at the same time. Quite industrious I’d say.

5. In September 2012, she was awarded a honorary degree by the Delta State University, Abraka despite the fact that she was not in the country at that time. She was said to have gone to Germany but she denied going there for any treatment. Worefa.

6. She hails from Oba-Ama Community in Okrika, a port town in Rivers State. It is known as a base for the sale of second-hand clothes, and the name Okrika for those of us very familiar with ‘Bend Down Select’ and ‘Tokunbo’ clothes is an attestation to that. Omo, I can never forget the delightful smell of Okrika clothes…lol! The belief then, and even maybe now is that they are even better than ‘original’ and brand new clothes. Next!

7. Her maiden name is OBA. As in, she was once Miss Patience Oba.

8. Miss Oba later met her lecturer while she was a student at the Rivers State College of Education (now Rivers State University of Education, Rumuolumeni). Her lecturer then was with the Department of Biological Sciences (he taught her biology, oh, I love that course die! Don’t ask me why!), and one thing led to the other, they both fell in love. Today, the rest is history and that Mr. Lecturer of yesterday now rules the most populous black nation on earth. You still don’t know him? Go get yourself a black fedora hat! Hear her:

”We first met at the Rivers State College of Education, Port Harcourt where I was a student. He was my Biology lecturer.Later; he left for university of Port Harcourt to pursue his PhD.

We met again at the University of Port Harcourt when I went for undergraduate degree. That was where our relationship began. He took interest in me because I was a brilliant and smart student.

It was love at first sight on his part. But it never crossed my mind that it would lead to a serious relationship. My first impression of him was ‘this tall, dark, hansome young man”.

Further interaction with him also revealed that he came from a good Christian home just like I did. His humble and gentle disposition caught my attention and most importantly, his intelligence.”

9. She says she still cooks for her husband and even goes to Utako Market (Abuja people, wey una dey?) to buy ingredients for soup. O ga ju!

10. Her hobbies? You bet! Reading, writing, travelling and oh yeah, swimming!

11. She holds many traditional titles, some of which are:
-Odadigba of Otuoke Kingdom, meaning the Ladder of Success.
-Unume Wheshi Ekpeye 1 of Ekpeye Kingdom in Rivers State.
-Yeye Obateru of Owu Kingdom, Ogun State, means the Wife of He Who Shares the King’s Burden.
-Yeye Ohun Orun of the Source of Ife Kingdom, Osun State, meaning the Wife of the Voice of the Heavens.
-Ada Di Oha Mma of Ukpo Kingdom (Daughter of the People of Ukpo). Okay, I think that is enough for now. Nigerians and titles sha.

12. She bears the title ‘Dame’ as she was honoured with the Knighthood of the Anglican Church.

13. Her marriage with the President is blessed with two children: a cheeky boy, Ariwera Adolphus Jonathan and a beautiful girl, Aruabi Jonathan.

14. Like others before her, she also has a non-governmental organization, named the A. Aruera Reachout Foundation and is said to focus on the needy, the poor and the destitute, with particular emphasis on women and children. According to the Foundation, it has trained over 2,000 women in the last eight years. Some of the things her Foundation also did was to foot the N1.8 million naira bill for an operation in India for a girl with a hole in the heart (septal defect) and Jubril Mohammed Hussein, a 9-year-old boy who was also flown out for treatment for his heart disease. Zainab Musa Garba, a twin, was diagnosed with a heart condition and needed N3 million naira for treatment, the Dame also footed her bills. Zainab’s mother teaches at the Federal Government College, Maiduguri while the dad is a retired civil servant. That’s a good one or what do you think? Same goes for Tobi Peters, an 11-year-old boy, three-month-old Peculiar Owodu and others (now over 30 kids). You can watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ADN7iGqzb6s
Well, I had to point that out because Nigerians seem to be carried away by her speeches as if we are all professors of English ourselves. By the way, I am assuming that her Foundation derived its name from her two kids: ARU-abi and Ariw-ERA. At any rate, it’s an assumption.

15. She is currently engaged in a tussle with the former First Lady, Turai Yar’adua over a plot of land in the Federal Capital Territory. That’s what I call the vanity of power and inanity of authority. By the way, I promise to tell you the meaning of her middle name ‘Faka’ once I get it. I’ve been trying to, but nothing yet.

Thanks for your time.
Iyaniwura.
