Mrs Dora Akunyili's New Look [Terrible Sickness]

After
Before
There have been rumours and counter rumours that former Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili was down with a life threatening ailment, that she was bedridden and that all hope is lost on her recovery.

But after CKN Nigeria reached out to the Prof who is a delegate to the National Conference going on in Abuja, this is her reply to her inquiry on her state of health.

I AM WELL, FIT AND READY FOR THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE - PROF. AKUNYILI
Thank you for your enquiry. There is a saying in Igboland that goes this way: “Let the sickness take the flesh but leave the bones because with time the bones would grow new flesh.”

I just came out of a major sickness, for which I thank Almighty God for delivering me. I know that God did that for a purpose, this National Conference being part of that purpose. I am well now but only need time to put on more weight. However, I am strong enough for this Conference and I look forward to collaborating with other delegates to chart the way for a better Nigeria.

Thank you.
PROF. DORA AKUNYILI, OFR
National Conference Delegate
Fmr Minister of Information & Communications

In Febuary, Kelly Handsome arrived on stage in a coffin and while many were wondering why he would do it,here is what he told Nigerian Tribune
"I’m at that point in my life when many believe that Kelly Hansome’s musical career is dead; so I thought of a concept that would best depict my comeback, and that was what I came up with. It wasn’t an easy decision but I had to take the bull by the horn...They loved it."

Jonathan ordered me to spend CBN billions on helicopters, FEC chamber- [Sanusi Reveals]

Premium Times Reports:
Nigeria’s suspended Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido, accused by President Goodluck Jonathan of wasting public funds on unapproved projects, has provided details of how the president himself personally authorized some of those spending, one of them a multibillion naira purchase of helicopters for the police, and another, a N2.1 billion renovation of the cabinet meeting room in the presidential villa.
Mr. Sanusi said the police project, which also involved buying other security equipment, cost N19.7 billion, and that it was carried out “upon the instruction” of President Jonathan.
The president, he said, also requested that the CBN pay N3.2 billion for the construction of a new counter terrorism centre for the office of the National

Details of the spending on “intervention projects” are contained in a lengthy statement released by the CBN governor early Sunday.

Mr. Sanusi said he was responding to the government’s allegation of financial recklessness against him, a charge Mr. Jonathan said was the basis for his suspension.

The president

Mr. Sanusi said he was responding to the government’s allegation of financial recklessness against him, a charge Mr. Jonathan said was the basis for his suspension.
The president claimed his decision to suspend the governor followed the recommendation of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, which he said investigated and found Mr. Sanusi as having misspent billions of naira.

But many Nigerians rejected that explanation and accused

But many Nigerians rejected that explanation and accused the president of removing Mr. Sanusi for revealing how state oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, diverted over $20 billion oil revenue.

Critics have challenged the government to prosecute Mr. Sanusi if its claims are true, and take a similar action against officials of the NNPC, and the petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who are at the centre of the missing $20 billion.

“Irrespective of the tepid and unconvincing denial by the presidency, it is clear that the main reason the presidency moved against Sanusi is because he blew the lid on the 20 billion dollars funds which the NNPC allegedly failed to remit to the Federation Account,” opposition party, All Progressives Congress, APC, said in February after Mr. Sanusi’s suspension”, the All Progressives Congress, APC, said February after Mr. Sanusi’s removal.

In his statement Sunday, Mr. Sanusi said a number of expenditure the CBN considered as interventions, but for which he was now being disparaged by the presidency, were either instigated by President Jonathan, or approved by him.

“The CBN also initiated, with His Excellency, the President’s approval, the construction of the International Conference Centre for Nigeria,” Mr. Sanusi said.

In the wake of the allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement against the NNPC, government critics accused Mr. Jonathan of deploying revenue-generating agencies of government as his Automated Teller Machine, ATM, for the funding of illicit projects often not covered in federal budgets.

Besides expenditures he said were captured under the CBN’s corporate social responsibilities, the bank, according to the details approved by its embattled governor, appeared always on call to fund an array of government projects not known to the budget, from renovating buildings, to constructing new conference centres, to buying hardware forsecurity units.

The details also highlight a spending spree by a bank that seemed incredibly buoyant, and constantly in search of bills to offset.
It is not clear how these spending were categorized by the president as they were not captured in the budget. Those listed in the budget, such as the purchase of equipment for the police, were supposed to draw funding from the government’s central revenue base, and not from the CBN.

Last week, President Jonathan, through his spokesperson, Reuben Abati, upped the government’s attack on Mr. Sanusi, declaring him guilty of the allegations against him, ahead of full investigation the government said was being carried out.

But the president dismissed as “untrue and unfounded”- also ahead of complete investigations- Mr. Sanusi’s allegation that the NNPC failed to pay $20 billion oil revenue into government treasury.

Mr. Sanusi said all “interventions” carried out by the CBN were not only known to the federal government, but that the government “supported and encouraged” them in “recognition of their positive contribution to development”.

“During the recent strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the CBN intervention projects in universities were an important fulcrum in the settlement negotiations between the FG and ASUU as borne out in the Memorandum of Understanding between the FG and ASUU,

He said the Financial Reporting Council itself, his main accuser, was a beneficiary of the CBN’s bazaar as “the CBN paid the sum of N220 Million to the FRCN and also organised thebanking sector, through the Banker’s Committee, to contribute N280 Million, totalling a sum of N500 Million, for the construction of the IFRS Academy.”

“All of these requests were duly submitted to the CBN Board of Directors and were duly approved,” he said.

U.S. Airways Flight 1702 was heading to Fort Lauderdale, Florida when the front tyre blew out and the pilot decided to abort takeoff. The nose gear then collapsed when the pilot tried to land the plane again.
The plane was carrying 149 passengers and five crew who emerged un- hurt. A Passenger told CBS
"“We were airborne, then struck back down by the nose. The plane went up, came back down a little bit the first time, then didn’t think much of it. Went up the second time, and then kind of felt loose and went straight back into the ground. Kind of sheer terror in everyone’s eyes,”

DailyMail Says D'Banj is Renowned in Nigeria as a Legendary Womanizer!

Daily Mail wrote on their website:

  Kenya Moore has claimed that she is dating 'African prince' but no-one has seen him on show or in real-life
  Most likely candidate is multi-millionaire Nigerian singer who is claimed to have been offered $40,000 to fake a relationship with her
  Her first fake boyfriend, Walter Jackson, tells MailOnline that he believes it is all made up to give her interesting plotline
  He adds that he believes she doesn't even live in Atlanta anymore and that the Bentley she claims to own is also just rented
  Moore has faced financial trouble after getting kicked out of her mansion
  She then went to live with aunt for a while in a much more modest rented house

Koko Master: D'Banj, who splits his time between Nigeria, the UK and Lagos, is known for his playboy lifestyle as well as his music. He calls girls who are good in bed 'kokos'.
While he may not be quite that rich, D’Banj is a huge star in his home country, where he is
renowned as a legendary womanizer. His nickname is the Koko master, which is Nigerian slang for someone who has a harem of woman and he has even brought out his own range of condoms.

What will D'banj say. I guess he wouldn't even reply. See how they have washed one of our favorite entertainers.

"I would have Flogged Donjazzy if my name was in that tweet"- Eedris Abdulkareem

Oh well, i didn't see the tweet but i heard of it. The tweet here- "If you are a rapper, your father will never be proud of you.’.. When Punch asked Edris he said Donjazzy was lucky he didn't mention his name because he would have flogged him...haha!!
" First of all, why didn’t he stay in London for the British government to give him a record deal? Shebi all of dem stayed in London, while some of them, like Banky W, went to America? But they all rushed back to Nigeria because it is here they could make such money. Of course, in America, they will not get paid $10, 000 for a show. Even some of the Americans like 50 Cent, the highest they will get for a show in their country is $50, 000. But they get paid $500, 000 here. If you could make such money here, you don’t have the right to stand up and say as a rapper, your parent will never be proud of you. Fortunately, it was money from rap musicmoney that I used to build my houses. It was through rap music that I could venture into otherbusinesses and do my agricultural project. It was rap money that I used to sponsor other guys on their trips to Europe.
more below
When Don Jazzy posted that Twitter message, he specifically said: ‘For example, Mode 9’. He did that because he knew Mode 9 will not do anything to him. Why didn’t he mention Eedris? I would have sent people to bring him and get him flogged very well.
But I would have used that to teach him a lesson. Some people may call it controversy, but I will say controversy loves me. It is important to address that issue. This guy has allowed everything to get into his head quickly. He was feeling like Meen, so na Nigeria we dey make all this money now? The British government wouldn’t have given him that opportunity. So, it is we that made rap and R&B possible to the extent that you get paid nicely that you are now insulting. Apology or not, it was important that I addressed that issue."
Funny enough, I am happy that they called me a thug. At least, I am an educated thug. People can say whatever they want. Some even say Eedris is proud. I am proud because hip-hop is proud. But the problem is that dem no know my secret. Dem no know how I dey take dey survive. I never come to dem papa house come ask for money before. The money some of these guys are making in the industry, I am the one that ignited the revolution for them to make it. I am fine and happy that I am doing very well. I am a musician, farmer and businessman. I know what I export to Europe. Germany is my base. I speak German. I am a businessman. I know where I am coming from. I am not an idiot.  Let them call me anything; I have friends in the industry, but I am very choosy. 2Face Idibia is my very good friend, Dr. Fresh is my friend and Terry G is my brother. If I am not friends with you, that mean say we no dey the same level and I’m not going to force myself. Na Eba I wan chop, you say make I chop amala. Na by force?

"Since The Cocaine Scandal, Everyone Has Deserted Me"- Baba Suwe!

Here is what Alhaji Nurudeen Babatunde Omidina Babatunde popularly known as Baba Suwe who was accused of carrying cocaine but later proven to be innocent told Encomium It's sad i must say. Read below.;

“I have not collected any compensation money from NDLEA yet. The most painful thing is that I was wrongly accused. Had it been, I actually committed the crime, I won’t mind, but they just punished me for nothing. I was in NDLEA custody for almost three weeks, and nothing was found on me. No matter the kind of juju one may have, I don’t think there is anybody that can conceal cocaine for even two days.
Even researches had shown that no one can harbour the substance in the body for two days. It will burst inside the person’s stomach, which can lead to death. And I believe after all their investigations, they should have released me so I could continue with my career. But the whole situation, the way they treated me actually rubbished my image. My career has been dwindling. A lot of people that are supposed to be inviting me to take part in their movies abandoned me because of the incident. Even a lot of people that could have assisted me financially don’t want to associate with me again. People within and outside the industry has deserted me on account of the allegation. They still doubt me despite my victory in court.
I have sung praises of some people in some of my movies, and I always appreciate whatever they give me. This makes a lot of people close to me. For instance, I was close to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu before and he was very nice to me.
He had done a lot for me but now, it’s very difficult for me to be close to him. He is even not comfortable seeing me around him again because of the allegation. I don’t enjoy people’s love and admiration like before because people still believe that it was true“.

obesere-612x300

If you have not heard, Obesere is said to be in a messy rape situation. The victim narrating her ordeal said
“ I got to know Obesere through my friend Mrs Bola Okoro. She told me that Obesere would assist me in my business. I deal in office equipment and when I contacted Obesere, he asked me to meet him in his family house at Okota.   When I met him, I introduced my business to him and he promised to connect me to some of his friends in Dubai who would sell goods to me on credit. After the discussion, he started demanding for sex and I refused and when I wanted to leave, he insisted I should sleep over in his house because it was late and he claimed that it was dangerous to go out late in the night in his area.”
“I thought he was a responsible man and I decided to sleep over, but at the dead of the night, he came into the room where I slept and pounced on me. He raped me and afterwards inserted a ring he wore into my private part and I started bleeding. He hurriedly left me in the room saying he had an appointment to fulfil. I could not bear the trauma and the bleeding and I reported the matter to the police.”
His former manager has defended him. Read what he said below.
