{EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW] With Tony Totch {Watabam bam}

In this EXCLUSIVE interview with Tony Totch Born in 1989 in Lagos City, Tony Totch whose real name is Anthony Toluwalase Ugbomah-Onalo is one of the leading Nigerian artist of his generation that emerged in the wake of the influence of Tuface, D'banj and lots more. Tony Totch studied computer and information science at the Lead City university, Ibadan. Tony totch dropped is debut single (wata bam bam) in 2011 which was a major hit and hs followed up consistently with various songs like waiting on the dance floor featuring EME's Skales,samba,Marry you shey iwo ni and so many other songs Tony Totch’s work can be found on http://m.reverbnation.com/#artist/tonytotch, and has been seen in numerous shows all over Nigeria and presently working on his debut album which would be released later this year!
Read below the exclusive interview we had with him.

·         Can you talk about that one defining moment when you knew you wanted to be a musician?
I started drumming in church at the age of 13 and at the age 14 I recorded a demo. At that point I knew I was going to be one.
·         Does your music carry a particular message or is it meant for pure pleasure?
Its mixture of both
·         What challenges have you had to face in your chosen career?
I haven’t really faced any challenges

 Can you talk about a fan encounter that completely took you by surprise?
Lol…. There are a lot to pick from ooo.. Okay there was this time this 4 year old boy was singing "Watabambam" word for word.. I was really surprised and excited about it.
·         What has been the best moment of your music career?
I was performing on stage and I think something went wrong with the DJ and the music stopped, to my surprise the fans were singing all through. Felt really good about it.
·         Who is the best upcoming producer you have worked with?
Don Ada
·         What do you feel as you play music?
I feel happy like I am on top of the world

·         Who is your role model in the music world?
              Tuface, Rkelly, to mention a few

·         Have you ever thought, "This is what life was made for"?
Music is life, I couldn’t think of any other thing.

·         Have you ever been so moved by a song that you cried? if so what was it?
 Yeah, when I first recorded my first single which was a love song.

·         Is there anything you did differently in your career?
I have no regrets…

·         Who would you like to be as famous as?
Michael Jackson

·         Who would you want to do a tour/concert with?
Banger Lee

·         Who would you date in the industry?
No disrespect but no one

·         Who would you want to do a duet with?
Beyounce

·         If you had to listen to one artist for the rest of your life, who would it be?
I can’t really pick because they are a lot of musicians with good music

·         Would you rather play in small venues or larger venues? Why?
Both….. I just want to satisfy my fans

·         What is one unforgettable tour (or tour memory)?
  Lynxx and friends Pepsi tour

·         If you weren't a musician, what would you be and why?
A computer analyst because I studied computer science in school

·         What is your favorite thing to see in the audience while you are on stage?
When I see my fans sing along with me

·         What distracts you while you're on stage?
Nothing…. I just want to get the job done….. Satisfying my fans

·         What advice would you give to future musicians?
To work hard and believe in God
