"Our mother was missing and not a witch" -- 80 year old accused of being a Flying Witch's children surfaces

Just yesterday the story about the 80 year old grandmother who was almost lynched by mobs claiming she confessed she was a witch  and was saved from lynching by the police surfaced online. If you missed it click HERE . Her sons have surfaced saying she isn't a witch but missed her way. The mob had claimed she said she and 2 other women fly as birds from Ibadan to Lagos and on their way back, she got tired and fell on the electric wire. But her sons claim she wandered off from their Iju Ishaga home some days ago and her family had been looking for her. They were shocked to see her in the news:
A policeman told Punch
"This morning two men came to the command claiming that they were the sons of the woman. The men said their mother was not a witch and were very angry with the manner the rumor was spreading. They said they were shocked that youths could attack an old woman in her 80s and
they were even asking for justice because the woman sustained bruises on her head."
Police PRO Ngozi Braide said:
"Yes she has been released to her son. The family said due to her old age, she was very ill and was brought from Ibadan to Lagos to stay with one of her sons. The woman's daughter-in-law said she went to buy drugs for her nearby, but by the time she returned home, the woman had left the house."

"I would have Flogged Donjazzy if my name was in that tweet"- Eedris Abdulkareem

Oh well, i didn't see the tweet but i heard of it. The tweet here- "If you are a rapper, your father will never be proud of you.’.. When Punch asked Edris he said Donjazzy was lucky he didn't mention his name because he would have flogged him...haha!!
" First of all, why didn’t he stay in London for the British government to give him a record deal? Shebi all of dem stayed in London, while some of them, like Banky W, went to America? But they all rushed back to Nigeria because it is here they could make such money. Of course, in America, they will not get paid $10, 000 for a show. Even some of the Americans like 50 Cent, the highest they will get for a show in their country is $50, 000. But they get paid $500, 000 here. If you could make such money here, you don’t have the right to stand up and say as a rapper, your parent will never be proud of you. Fortunately, it was money from rap musicmoney that I used to build my houses. It was through rap music that I could venture into otherbusinesses and do my agricultural project. It was rap money that I used to sponsor other guys on their trips to Europe.
more below
When Don Jazzy posted that Twitter message, he specifically said: ‘For example, Mode 9’. He did that because he knew Mode 9 will not do anything to him. Why didn’t he mention Eedris? I would have sent people to bring him and get him flogged very well.
But I would have used that to teach him a lesson. Some people may call it controversy, but I will say controversy loves me. It is important to address that issue. This guy has allowed everything to get into his head quickly. He was feeling like Meen, so na Nigeria we dey make all this money now? The British government wouldn’t have given him that opportunity. So, it is we that made rap and R&B possible to the extent that you get paid nicely that you are now insulting. Apology or not, it was important that I addressed that issue."
Funny enough, I am happy that they called me a thug. At least, I am an educated thug. People can say whatever they want. Some even say Eedris is proud. I am proud because hip-hop is proud. But the problem is that dem no know my secret. Dem no know how I dey take dey survive. I never come to dem papa house come ask for money before. The money some of these guys are making in the industry, I am the one that ignited the revolution for them to make it. I am fine and happy that I am doing very well. I am a musician, farmer and businessman. I know what I export to Europe. Germany is my base. I speak German. I am a businessman. I know where I am coming from. I am not an idiot.  Let them call me anything; I have friends in the industry, but I am very choosy. 2Face Idibia is my very good friend, Dr. Fresh is my friend and Terry G is my brother. If I am not friends with you, that mean say we no dey the same level and I’m not going to force myself. Na Eba I wan chop, you say make I chop amala. Na by force?

Iyanya Explains Why He Shows off On Instagram And How Many Cars He Really Bought.

Kukere crooner, Iyanya, in a new interview with Punch explained why he shows off on Instagram, while denying he recently bought 4 cars on the same day.
Here is what he said:
“I didn’t buy four cars in one day o. I only bought just one which I posted on Instagram. So I don’t know where people got their own story from. We have four cars in this house. I also do not get it when people say we (artistes) show off on social media. I mean if God has blessed me, there is no reason to hide that. We are not showing off. After all, everyone knows Iyanya’s story. Whenever I post pictures of my cars or money on Instragram, the public should understand that it is just my own way of saying if God can do it for me, He can for you too.”

A WOMAN ONCE REFUSED TO MARRY ME BECAUSE I HAD NO CAR- HAFIZ OYETORO A.K.A SAKA

He is Hafiz Oyetoro but to his fans, he is Saka. In this interview culled from Punch Newspaper, the popular actor and his wife, Olaide, relive the experience of their 10-year-old marriage

How did you meet?

Hafiz: She was a final year student of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education while I was a lecturer in the school.   The first time I saw her, she had come to the school to submit her final year project.  I was with a friend of mine who knew her. I just told my friend that I would love to meet the lady and he facilitated a meeting between us.

Olaide:  I believe it is God that brought us together.  When he approached me at first, I declined his request but afterwards, I discovered that he is a good man, very religious and well behaved

How long did it take before you got married?

Hafiz: It took me almost a year. I was ready but she was not. She gave me a tough time for almost six months before she finally accepted. As a matter of fact, my friend had to persuade her to accept my proposal.

Olaide: I would not say I gave him a tough time. What I did was that I took time to study him.  We are well brought up in our house and we don’t jump into marriage anyhow.

How did he propose?

Olaide:  He said, “I want to marry you.’’ There were no flowers or candles.  When he proposed, I told him I was not ready for marriage and he asked me what I wanted to do.  I told him I wanted to pursue a degree programme; he accepted and even bought me the entry form.

Hafiz: She had said no at first but when my friend intervened, she took me to her guardian.

Before him did you have other suitors?

Olaide: Yes, but I am a devout Muslim. I did not accept proposals from those other suitors because I wanted to marry Hafiz.

You said earlier that a woman refused to marry you because you did not have a car?

Hafiz:  Yes. It was after my master’s degree programme and there was no money. I was just an average artiste, struggling to survive, but the lady did not see the future.  I remember telling her that I was ready for marriage.   Her reply was that I was not ready because I did not have a car. I told her that with my job, I should be able to get a very comfortable car within a year. She insisted that one car would not be sufficient since she was going to be pregnant one day. That was when I knew that in order to get married to her; I had to have two cars first.

Why did you marry him when he did not have a car?

Olaide: I did not marry him because of material things. I married him because of the love I have for him.

Hafiz: I have never had any regrets about marrying Laide. It has been from one level of progress to the other. I thank God for giving me the grace to meet her. I married her into a room and parlour apartment before we moved into the college staff quarters. Very soon, by the grace of God, we will move into our personal home. It has been very rewarding.

What is the most interesting thing about your husband?

Olaide: Everything about him is interesting. I believe women should pray very well before getting into marriage. It is God that chooses for people and He is the one who chose Hafiz for me.

What is the most annoying thing you have ever done to each other?

Olaide: Sometimes, he gets angry and storms out of the house. At such times, I will stay in the room and pray for God to take control.

Hafiz: She is a little stubborn. Sometimes, I would express my dislike for certain things but as a woman, she would want to prove a point.   At such times, I would walk out of the house because I love her. I would have to go out so that my anger can burn itself out.   I would not want to say something hurting that I would have to regret later on. She has been there and taking care of my house. I cannot stay back home and say painful things because of a little misunderstanding.

What is the most romantic gesture you have shown towards each other?

Olaide: Everything he does is romantic. He sings for me sometimes.

Hafiz:  I just compose songs. I am not a good singer actually.  When I know that I have offended her, I would sing her a song with my crooked voice.  It has been fun actually, whether in anger or merriment.  If we don’t have misunderstandings, the marriage would not be realistic. Most of the misunderstandings we have in the house are everyday friendly disagreements.

Are you a Saka fan?

Olaide: Yes. I am.  When he started acting, I loved watching him on the screen.

Hafiz: She appreciates the work of art. She is a graduate of mathematics and I am amazed at the chemistry between us. I have to commend her because she sacrificed a lot for the family. As a graduate of mathematics, instead of going to teach in secondary school, she had to resign and settle down to take care of the home because I am not always around. Our plan is that when the children have grown, she can go back to teaching.  Maybe we will build our own school.

Your husband ‘ported’ from poverty to a comfortable living, how is that affecting you?

Olaide: I don’t think he was ever poor because poverty is a mindset.  He was not as rich as this but one has to reach a phase in life.  The extra money has brought positive changes to my business. I thank God for giving him to me.

Now that you are rich, as a Muslim, would you want to marry a second wife?

Hafiz: No. It is too late for me to marry another wife.  At 50, what else would I be looking for? I have three children, I have my job and my wife is still young. If I marry another one now, that means I want to die, I cannot cope with the stress.

How are you coping with attention from female fans?

Hafiz:  I am not a particularly attractive person outside the screen. Most of my fans love Saka, not Hafiz. When they meet Hafiz, they are disappointed; Hafiz and Saka are two different personalities.

What price do you have to pay for fame?

Hafiz: Fame affects my freedom. I am naturally simple; I would love to live my life without being too conscious of what people would say. But these days, my personal assistants and managers and sometimes, my lawyer would follow me to certain places and try to hide me from people.  Also, some people harass me to get money.  If I go out, I don’t spend anything less than N5000 just tipping people. Sometimes, I give people N1000 and they will complain that it is too small.   They would abuse me and consider me to be snobbish or stingy. I have to be realistic and not give people money every day, otherwise, I will be broke.  What I am trying to do now is to give people who are really in need.   That is more productive than showing off by giving money to people who run after me.

What pet names do you have for each other?

Olaide: I call him Oye, which is the short form of his name.

Hafiz:  I call her Olomi.

"Being a father changed my lifestyle"- Terry G

In an interview with PUNCH, the Benue state born singer talked about how being a father changed his lifestyle.
"Having a kid has a lot to do with my new lifestyle. Sometime you see life in a different way. You perceive it in another way another time. When I had a kid, I saw so much value in my life and future. I became humbled and developed the mindset that anything that has to do with my future must automatically involve my son as well. I started changing a lot of things and it actually scared a lot of negative friends from me. It helped me resolve and reorganize myself again." He said

"I'd love to marry Genevieve,my story is not complete without her + I miss DonJazzy "-Dbanj

Dbanj opened up in an interview with Jayne Augoye of Punch on how he misses DonJazzy and how he would love to have Genevieve as his wife.

Excerpts below
“Apart from the fact that she is my friend, she has been a part of my success. There is no way you are going to tell my story that Genevieve’s name will not come up because she featured in my biggest song of all time, Fall in Love. So if E True Story comes to Nigeria to interview me, she will definitely be called upon to tell my story.I would love to have Genevieve as my wife.  We never can tell what God plans for us in the future. I have studied her and I realised that anyone that has her as his woman has found himself a treasure. Just like the Bible says, any man who finds a wife, finds a good thing.”

ON REMAINING RELEVANT

“So much has happened in the last 18 months and I am very thankful to God. By the Grace of God, I have remained relevant for nearly a decade in the music industry and I have released hit songs every year. Also, I am glad that I have been chosen to headline the Hennessy Artistry this year. This is one brand that understands the importance of aligning with the entertainment industry.
My career is barely 10 years old.But with the success I have achieved so far, it feels like three decades already. Within my first 10 years as a musician,
I have recorded the biggest song and shot the most viewed music video of all time, ‘Oliver Twist’. I must say I am humbled and getting ready to take over,”

ON DONJAZZY
“If I say I don’t miss Don Jazzy, I am lying. I have spent the better part of my career with him. I was married to him in a way (laughs). So I miss everything about Mo’Hits: the family, the movement, and the vibe of being in the studio with him. I miss the jokes and the arguments, but I have since keyed into the notion that nothing can stop a moving train.

“Nevertheless we can always do music together. The track, ‘Top of the World’ was produced by a Grammy Award Winner. The songs ‘Finally’ and ‘Don’t Tell Me Nonsense’ was produced by my producer while ‘Oliver Twist’ was produced by Don Jazzy. So, why won’t I have him on my 10 years anniversary album?

On his success
“I have never said I am a musician; I am an entertainer. Some people say I can pick up a microphone and become a comedian. Therefore nobody should come and ask if I want to go into acting because they should know I am already an actor. It depends on when the right script and concept lands in my hands.
“For now, I am concerned about achieving new things and breaking new grounds. By the time I enter Hollywood, I believe that I’ll become as successful as I have been as a singer. The movie titled ‘I am Banga Lee’, starring Genevieve, to be released in 2014, won’t be a bad idea,”
