Whenever a celebrity icon like Keyshia lashes Beyonce over her first record in two years, it’s bound to make news and go viral. And that’s exactly what has happened on Tuesday, March 19, following the release of Beyonce’s new song “Bow Down.”
On the track, Beyonce changes her typical “Women United” theme by suggesting that any women interested in getting on her level must “Bow Down” first. On the track, Beyonce also calls women the B-word.
I know when you were little girls you dreamt of being in my world/Don’t forget it, don’t forget it/Respect that, bow down, b*****s.”
But now, Keyshia Cole is slamming Beyonce on Twitter about the lyrics—without actually naming Beyonce by name.
“Can’t stand when people all self righteous when it’s convenient it makes them look good. Lmao! But can still talk sh*t when convenient 2 FOH,” tweeted Cole on Monday.
Keyshia then followed that tweet up with the following.
“First ‘Women need to Stick together’ now b****s better Bow. Smh. But it’s all G! Chicks stay shooting the s**t. But when I speak my mind its a prob. #Well #StayMad.”
Keyshia is most likely referring to Beyonce’s previous music, where she often talked about girl power and unity. Songs such as “Single Ladies” and “Girls (Run the World)” were female empowerment anthems
But with “Bow Down,” Keyshia feels Beyonce is pretending like she’s better than other people.
Do you feel Keyshia is right to slam Beyonce like this? Voice your thoughts below.
